Sydney Observatory – Daytime

The Heritage listed sandstone Sydney Observatory was constructed on Sydney’s highest land point in 1858. It is now dwarfed by high rise buildings and engulfed in metropolitan light pollution.

It is a fully functioning observatory with three domes and telescopes but is no longer utilised for major astronomical research. Its principle functions these days is for astronomy outreach, education and as a museum.
